Fantasy Sports Live - Rewriting the Rules of Fantasy Sports

A few weeks ago I came across a unique fantasy sports website, Fantasy Sports Live. Why are they unique you ask? Fantasy Sports Live combines fantasy sports with poker. To me, this is a fantastic idea as most people who are into fantasy sports are usually involved in “paid” leagues of some sort resulting in some financial prize should they win their league.
How FSL Works
At FSL, you can participate in daily fantasy sports contests of skill as they offer a variety of fantasy sports contest structures and sports including football, baseball, basketball and more for your enjoyment. Just like with poker, you have an entry fee, a total prize amount and sometimes a cap (i.e. pot limit). For example, today they have a contest called “Heads Up Week 10″ where 2 managers can pay $5.50 to go heads up against each other for a prize of $10. For this contest there’s no salary cap so you just have to pick the best possible players that you think will outscore the other manager’s team of players so that you can win the $10 prize.
My FSL Experience
Now once I found FSL, I decided to play in a contest so I could give it an accurate review since I liked the idea that they were providing their users. The contest that I decided to do was to compete against other sports blog owners in “Blogger Battle Week 1″ that had a buy in of $11. There were a maximum of 10 managers that could enter to win the total purse of $100; 1st: $50, 2nd: $30 and 3rd: $20. The salary cap was $950 and you had to choose your players while staying underneath that cap. I ended up falling from the #2 spot to finish 3rd for the Week 1 contest, but at least I won $20. Anytime you finish in the money it’s a win-win situation.
Conclusion
If you’re into fantasy sports like I am as well as poker, then I highly recommend playing on Fantasy Sports Live. If you decide to play on FSL let me know how your experience was and maybe we can go heads up sometime!
