So what’s your opinion of the whole Brett Favre and Green Bay Packers situation? To me it just does not make sense why you don’t want a future HOF candidate to be your QB anymore. And it appears that the situation is ONLY going to get worse.
Sure he decided to “retire” this past offseason, but we also know how long the Green Bay Packers have been on his case about letting them know what he wants to do year after year. So maybe, just maybe, that was one of the reasons he decided to retire? Maybe he couldn’t take all of the doubt at the end of the year each year. Everyone knows it’s always hard for a player to actually walk away from the game they love so much.
I just cannot fathom why you wouldn’t want an experienced QB back under center rather than a rookie QB? Today, most teams have the “Win Now” attitude and the Green Bay Packers were so close to going to the Super Bowl last year. Just one bad play and they end up missing out on the Super Bowl and then they decide that they should just give up and start the rebuilding process?
And why isn’t any team jumping at the chance to get Brett Favre? He’s still better than half of the other QBs in the NFL today. I just can’t believe that there are only a hand full of teams that want him.
Just look at these stats below and decide who you would want leading your team down the field!
BF: 61,655 Passing Yards, 1,786 Rushing Yards, 442 TDs, 288 INTs and a Passing Rating of 85.7%.
AR: 329 Passing Yards, 47 Rushing Yards, 1 TD. 1 INT and a Passing Rating of 73.3%
I also don’t mind it that the commissioner is now involved in getting the situation taken care of ASAP. With the NFL currently having an image issue with some many players now being arrested, Brett Favre is an actual player a kid can look up to as he’s someone who constantly gave 100% game after game. I’m sure most of the QBs in the league actually grew up idolizing Favre too! So why not give him the respect he deserves and let him play for a team that wants him and wants to win.
Lemme guess, you’re wondering how this pertains to fantasy football huh? Well it actually does. This is not JUST a rant. Who would you rather have passing to your Ryan Grant, Donald Driver or Greg Jennings, Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers? With Aaron Rodgers under center Ryan Grant is sure to see some stacked lines with defenses trying to make Rodgers beat them. With Brett Favre, you’re not going to get that because defenses already know that he can and will beat you because he has a STRONG arm. The same thing goes for your WRs too. A rookie QB like Rodgers is sure to make more mental mistakes than an experienced QB like Favre, thus meaning your WRs will end up with less receiving yards and less TDs.
So, what’s your opinion on this situation? Chime in and let me know! Thanks!
