METAIRIE, La. — New Orleans Saints restricted free agent wide receiver Lance Moore has re-signed.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis expects three of his team’s restricted free agents to sign their tenders Monday, but the status of the team’s other five remains in limbo.
The Saints’ challenge of a two-point conversion play in the fourth quatrer of Super Bowl XLIV was rewarded after officials reversed their earlier call that Lance Moore didn’t cleanly catch Drew Brees‘ pass.

This was a wild year for wide receivers. The Cowboys spent a first-round and third-round pick (plus paid a good deal of money) to bring in a franchise receiver to replace Terrell Owens, but it turns out they had that franchise receiver on their team all along. The label “The Other Steve Smith” actually switched Smiths. Oh, and we discovered that when you add a “Sims” to your name, you can transform into a top-five receiver for half the season. Look out for Josh Sims-Morgan in 2010.
Many owners don’t like spending early picks on receivers, knowing that unheralded guys (like several of our Heroes) emerge every season. I’d like to point out that Andre Johnson was the top receiver in football for the last two years. I spent a first-rounder on him last year, and I may wind up doing the same next year.

Whether it’s torn, sprained, broken or just needs to be taped, Injuries to Watch will keep you up to date on injuries around the NFL and how they’ll affect your fantasy football team.
Quarterback
o. Matt Moore, Panthers – Carolina has already been forced to use their second-string quarterback, and now Moore has a bum shoulder. He was limited in practice on Thursday, but is still expected to play. He likely won’t be of much fantasy help, however.
o. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bills – Fitzpatrick has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against Atlanta with an ankle injury. Brian Brohm will start instead.
o. Kyle Boller, Rams – It’s looking more and more that Boller will be out this Sunday and Keith Null will start at quarterback fr the Rams. If this news is meaningful to you, you probably aren’t playing for the fantasy championship in your league this weekend.
o. Matt Ryan, Falcons – Ryan practiced on Thursday, although in a limited fashion. He’s a pretty good bet to start on Sunday against the Bills.
Saints TE Jeremy Shockey will be inactive for Saturday night’s game against the Cowboys because of turf toe, according to a team source.

Quarterback
o. Matt Ryan, Falcons – Coach Mike Smith says that he likes the progress he’s been seeing from Ryan. Smith’s hands are tied until Ryan becomes medically cleared. If that happens, Ryan status for Sunday will likely be a game-time decision.
o. Matt Schaub, Texans – Schaub is going to wear a brace on his left shoulder on Sunday, but he is going to play. He practiced in full on Thursday.
o. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks – Hasselbeck practiced in full on Thursday and says he felt better on Thursday then he did on Wednesday. His health keeps improving as the week goes on, but the quarterback claims he’s banged up. He should play on Sunday.
